I’m a undergraduate Software Engineering student at the University of South Australia in my second year, curious about developing software that can be useful to assist in making life a little more tolerable.
I’m very much on the side of “automating all the things” to make less work for myself, such as developing two custom-made Discord bots to automate repetitive tasks that I carry out on my servers - but I also believe in making software that can help in times of need, such as OzAlert which aims to be a better crisis alerting system.
I have several years of programming experience, as well as two years of studying Digital Technologies and achieving an A- in the 2021 SACE program. These two years involved considering the ethics behind a program or service, as well as developing several Python scripts for logging visitors to an IT helpdesk, assisting in repetitive calculation tasks, and website applications that kept track of road crash incidents.
I’ve still got a lot to learn. It was only last year that I learned CSHTML as part of my first year of Software Engineering, and there’s definitely an urge to keep improving on my JavaScript and TypeScript skills with the continuous development of my Discord bots.
